Departing Rangers defender Bilel Mohsni slams Leeds United-bound forward Lee Erwin.
Departing Rangers defender Bilel Mohsni has told The Scottish Sun that Leeds United-bound Lee Erwin will be responsible if his football career ends this summer.
Mohsni and Erwin (then at Motherwell) were involved in a brawl during the second leg of the Scottish Premiership playoff final last month.
The 27-year-old Tunisia international responded to a push by Erwin by aiming a kick and punch at the striker. He then tussled with Motherwell’s unused substitute Fraser Kerr.
The brawl took place towards the end of the game, which Motherwell won 3-0 to wrap up a 6-1 aggregate victory over the Gers and retain their top-flight status.
Mohsni, who has now been banned for seven games for the incident, has taken a swipe at Erwin, who has joined English Championship club Leeds on a free transfer.
“If the guy hadn’t pushed me in the back I would be on holiday right now,” the Tunisian told The Scottish Sun. “I would have already signed for a new club.”
“This player won the game,” added Mohsni. “He had a contract on the table from Leeds. So why did he need to push me?
“Now, maybe my football will be finished and I will have to find another job — because of the SFA. I will go back to France, see my family and see what happens.”
Mohsni has left Rangers after two years at Ibrox following his move to the Gers on a free transfer in the summer of 2013.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old Scottish forward Erwin will be aiming to lead Leeds to a top-six finish in the Championship next season.
