Derby County’s Kellan Gordon has joined Kilmarnock on trial.

According to a report in the Daily Record, Derby County youngster Kellan Gordon has joined Kilmarnock on trial, and he could end up being new manager Angelo Alessio’s first signing at the club.
Gordon came through the youth ranks at Derby. Over the past couple of seasons, he has enjoyed loan spells at Swindon Town and Lincoln City in League Two, making a total of 27 appearances.
His contract at Pride Park expires this summer, and it seems the Rams are happy to move the 21-year-old on as they have given the player permission to travel north of the border for a trial with Kilmarnock.
Gordon is predominantly a wide midfielder, but he is also versatile enough to play at fullback.
The youngster has largely featured for Derby’s U23 development side, although he did get a brief taste of first-team action as he made his Rams debut in the EFL Cup victory over Grimsby Town back in 2017.

Kilmarnock are looking to build on the work done by manager Steve Clarke who recently took over the vacant Scotland job.
Former Italian midfielder Angelo Alessio surprisingly succeeded Clarke at Rugby Park, and it seems the former Chelsea assistant boss is targeting youth as he looks to build an exciting squad capable of challenging.
