Deommodore Lenoir did not take kindly to Troy Aikman’s comments about him during the San Francisco 49ers’ defeat to the Seattle Seahawks.

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir had ruffled feathers with his comments about Seattle Seahawks receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba this week.

However, with the 49ers losing 13-3 to the Seahawks, and Smith-Njigba having a brilliant game, it wasn’t even close, and legendary announcer Troy Aikman poked fun at Lenoir during the game.

Deommodore Lenoir goes off on Troy Aikman

Deommodore Lenoir didn’t hold back after hearing Troy Aikman question his performance during the team’s 13–3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, taking to his Instagram stories to unleash a furious response.

“Y’all think I give a f— what Troy Aikman has to say,” he wrote. “Clearly his eyes rollin’ in the back of his head when the game is on. Y’all show me where 11 (Jaxon Smith-Njigba) gave me work. Post every route, every matchup.”

The tension started when Troy Aikman, calling the game for ESPN, criticized Lenoir’s pregame comments about wanting to match up with Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

During the broadcast, Aikman poked fun at the 49ers’ defensive back’s claim, noting that Lenoir hadn’t been a shadow corner all year.

“Lenoir talked this week about wanting to match up with JSN (Jaxon Smith-Njigba),” Aikman said on commentary.

“I thought it was pretty funny because Lenoir hasn’t matched up with anybody all season long. He plays outside, which is most of the time… It’s clear that the Seattle Seahawks like that matchup.”

Deommodore Lenoir’s words come back to haunt him

Deommodore Lenoir had told reporters before the game, “Hopefully I get to shadow JSN. I’m ready for this. Like, I hope he’s ready… Man-to-man coverage, me and him. That’s what I want. Me and him.”

But Smith-Njigba responded with six catches for 84 yards as Seattle locked up the NFC’s top playoff seed with a dominant win.

Smith-Njigba, meanwhile, took the high road. Speaking to reporters after the game, he acknowledged hearing Lenoir’s trash talk but said his focus was on execution.

“Yeah, I definitely heard it,” Smith-Njigba said. “But I knew we were going to see him today and take care of business.”

Lenoir’s comments reflect a growing rivalry between the 49ers and Seahawks, who have exchanged jabs both on and off the field this season.

While the Seahawks celebrated their conference-clinching win, Lenoir’s postgame frustration and Aikman’s national spotlight turned a simple matchup into one of the NFL’s weekend flashpoints.
