Dennis Wise has stated on Twitter that he has not returned to Newcastle United as an advisor to club owner Mike Ashley.
A recent report in The Times claimed that Wise has regained his position as an advisor to Newcastle owner Ashley.
The former Chelsea midfielder and Leeds United manager worked as a Director of Football at the Magpies.
Wise, though, has stated on Twitter that he has not returned to Newcastle, and has also wished the best of luck to the Magpies.
Fighting for survival
Newcastle won against Cardiff City at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday.
The performance of Rafael Benitez’s side was very encouraging, and the result has boosted the Magpies’ chances of escaping the dreaded drop to the Championship at the end of the season.
Newcastle are 17th in the Premier League table at the moment with 21 points from 23 matches, two points clear of third-from-bottom Cardiff.
The Magpies will return to action next weekend when they take on Watford at St. James’ Park in the Premier League.
