Dennis Wise has delivered an emphatic one-word verdict on Aston Villa star Robert Snodgrass which proves West Ham United made a big mistake.

West Ham have turned a corner under David Moyes this season, reaching the 30 point mark with the 2-0 win over Watford last time out.

That is some turnaround given the Hammers were languishing in the relegation zone on just nine points when the Scot took over in November.

The East Londoners could be joined in the top flight by a resurgent Aston Villa next season with Steve Bruce’s side mounting a serious challenge for the second automatic promotion spot in the Championship.

A big part of Villa’s turnaround has been Moyes’ fellow Scot Robert Snodgrass, who was shipped out on loan by Slaven Bilic during the summer, just six months after signing for the Hammers for £10 million from Hull.

Snodgrass failed to impress in 16 appearances for West Ham, many as sub, but claimed he was played out of position by Bilic on leaving for Villa on a season-long loan.

Moyes has been hit by injuries in recent months and publicly admitted looking into bringing Snodgrass back from the loan in January.

And Sky Sports pundit Dennis Wise has delivered a one word verdict on the Scotland midfielder which reiterates what a mistake West Ham made in letting him go – not to mention the public criticism he received from co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold to boot.

And now Sky Sports pundit Dennis Wise has delivered his verdict on who he thinks will secure the automatic promotion spot.

“I do (see Villa finishing second), I think they’ll be up there if I’m being honest,” Wise told Sky Sports Daily.

“The reason being they’ve got so much experience in there you know, they’ve got the likes of John Terry sitting at the back, he knows how to motivate and he knows how to help individuals and they’ve got some good players, I mean (Robert) Snodgrass is just fantastic.”
