Everton may need to name Dennis Adeniran on the bench today.

Everton are back in action today, as they host Watford at Goodison Park, with Marco Silva facing his former club yet again.

The Toffees head into the game having drawn 0-0 at Crystal Palace last weekend, and have some real midfield issues to contend with.

Andre Gomes is a doubt through injury and Morgan Schneiderlin is suspended, meaning new signing Jean-Philippe Gbamin may be pressed into action despite a patchy cameo last weekend.

It also means another midfielder will be needed on the bench with Tom Davies set to start, and the Liverpool Echo note that Dennis Adeniran may be given the nod as a substitute.

The 20-year-old joined Everton from Fulham in 2017, with the Toffees paying £4million to land him according to Sky Sports, seemingly feeling he had a bright future ahead of him.

So far, the midfielder has yet to feature for Everton’s first team, but with issues in the middle of the park, he may be set for a spot in Silva’s squad for the first time.

That’s an exciting step for the youngster, who enjoyed a decent pre-season campaign and can now really push for a greater first-team role under Silva this season.

There’s a real opportunity for Adeniran to get on the pitch in the Premier League and completely leapfrog Beni Baningime, and prove that, whilst he’s been somewhat forgotten about in the last couple of years, the £4million was money well spent after all.
