Everton had high hopes for Dennis Adeniran in 2017.
The midfielder had been emerging down at Fulham, having come up through the ranks at Craven Cottage.
An England youth international who made his Fulham debut at 17, Adeniran looked to be on course for a huge future.
Everton saw enough potential in Adeniran to strike a deal worth £4million, though plenty of that was based on add-ons.
Adeniran is now 22 and hasn’t played a single game for Everton. This term, he’s been out on loan at Wycombe Wanderers.
Adeniran’s Everton contract expires this summer, and the Toffees have now decided to part ways with the midfielder.
Adeniran has taken to Instagram to confirm that his time with Everton is over, and he will be leaving after four years on Merseyside.
He is likely to attract plenty of League One or Championship interest, with plenty of untapped potential still there.
Everton won’t have to pay close to the £4million now, but seeing Adeniran walk away for nothing won’t have been in their plans when they signed him.
