The Tottenham Hotspur ace has been in superb form this season.
Denmark manager Age Hareide sat down for an exclusive interview with Danish media outlet Ritzau, and made the bold claim that Tottenham star Christian Eriksen is better than all of the midfield players currently plying their trade at Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The Denmark international has been in superb form for Spurs this season, and has chalked up 11 goals and 10 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.
The 26-year-old has been at the heart of everything good that the Lilywhites have done this term, and he continues to be his club’s go to player in terms of creativity and guile in the final third.
Hareide, who managers Eriksen at international level, spoke highly of the Tottenham ace, when speaking exclusively to Ritzau, claiming that he is better than any of Barcelona’s and Real Madrid’s current midfielders:
“I think he is a type that can adapt to anything. Give him a ball, then the ball will speak for him wherever he is. Christian is a type that just gets better from dealing with better football players. When looking at the players that play centrally for Real Madrid and Barcelona, none of them are better than Christian. Luka Modric came from Tottenham to Real Madrid, and he was not as good as Christian.”
The Denmark international is still under contract with Spurs until the summer of 2020, but if he continues his superb form, Tottenham could very well find it extremely hard to keep hold of him over the course of the next year or so.
