Denmark manager Age Hareide has told newspaper BT that he is delighted to see striker Nicklas Bendtner sign for Nottingham Forest.
Hareide’s men enjoyed two wins over the last week, as they beat Liechtenstein 5-0 a week ago and then picked up a 1-0 win over Armenia on Sunday evening.

Manager Hareide will want to qualify for the 2018 World Cup having been called upon to take the job after they failed to qualify for the European Championships – and he may now have Nicklas Bendtner to call upon.
Bendtner, 28, had been a free agent all summer having left Bundesliga side Wolfsburg back in April, but today penned a two-year contract with Championship side Nottingham Forest.

The former Arsenal striker is seen as a player who can boost Forest’s attack, and despite having plenty of doubters, he should score some goals in the Championship.
Ultimately, Bendtner will hope to get himself back in the Denmark squad, given that he was out of Hareide’s most recent side, with the Danish boss preferring to go with Feyenoord’s Nicolai Jorgensen, RB Leipzig’s Yussuf Poulsen and Copenhagen’s Andreas Cornelius.

After Bendtner’s move to the City Ground was confirmed, manager Hareide told newspaper BT that he is ‘pleased’ to see Bendtner find a new club.
Hareide added that he now has another option to consider for his attack now Bendtner has signed for a club, and thinks he has the potential to be an important player for Denmark moving forward.
“I am pleased that Nicklas has found a club where he can play and get started again as a footballer,” said Hareide. “He is an important player, and that means that we will have a new option. When he gets playing time and get going, he will get better and better,” he added.
