Everton made a big splash in the transfer market this month by signing Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez, but they missed out on another target.
The Toffees have been linked with Saint-Etienne star Denis Bouanga for some time now, in an effort to bolster Carlo Ancelotti’s attack.
But Football Club reported last week that Everton failed with a bid for Bouanga this summer, and it now looks like he will stay put.
The 25-year-old joined Saint-Etienne from Nimes in 2019, and starred with 12 goals and five assists to his name.
Bouanga already has two goals in five games this season, continuing to show that he is one of Ligue 1’s most talented attackers.
Bouanga isn’t a household name yet though, but he has dreams of joining Gabon international teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the Premier League.

The left-sided winger has told Telefoot, as quoted by GFFN, that he dreams of a Premier League move because there are ‘top clubs’ and the action is so frantic.
Bouanga did note that he is focused on Saint-Etienne, but Everton should keep him on their radar if they still want a winger, given his honest comments about wanting a move to England.
“My contract is still running, I am focused on Les Verts… There are top clubs there (in the Premier League) and it is really box to box. I dream about it,” said Bouanga.
