Don Hutchison has claimed on Twitter that Steven Gerrard’s Rangers would have “mullered” Celtic even if Neil Lennon’s side were having a good season.
The former Scotland international made the comments while watching Rangers in action against Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Premiership today.
Steven Gerrard’s side played out a 1-1 draw. The result means that league leaders Rangers have now picked up 76 points from 28 matches this season.
Celtic are having a torrid time and are second in the standings with 55 points from 26 games.
Lennon’s side have been very disappointing, and it is very unlikely that they will make it 10 Scottish Premiership titles in a row.
Former Liverpool midfielder Hutchison, who now works as a pundit for ESPN and Premier League Productions, believes that Rangers would have got the better of Celtic even if the Hoops were at their usual best.

Hutchison has pointed out that Rangers are unbeaten in the league this season, having played as many as 28 games.
Rangers will return to action next weekend when they take on Kilmarnock at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership, while Celtic will face St. Mirren in the league on Wednesday.
Hutchison wrote on Twitter: “People talk about the demise of Celtic. But f**k me the form of Rangers would have mullered them anyways. This could be unbeaten in the Lge in 28 games!!!!!! Yes 28 games!!!!!!! No1 in Europe has a better record. #Rangers #Gerrard love it @RangersFC”
