Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Crystal Palace made a bid for Demarai Gray, but the winger is joining Rafael Benitez’s Everton instead.
What’s the story?
Well-known and well-respected journalist Romano has reported on Twitter that Everton are closing in on the signing of Gray from Bayer Leverkusen.
The deal is now at the final stages.
Everton’s Premier League rivals, Palace, are also interested and actually made a bid.
However, Everton seem set to win the race for the 25-year-old.
Good decision?
Both Everton and Palace are established and big Premier League clubs, and both have new managers in charge.
The Toffees have shown more ambition in recent years and have been desperately trying to break into the top four.

Rafael Benitez is now in charge of Everton now, and under the former Liverpool boss, the Toffees will be looking to at least challenge for the European places.
Gray is still only 25, and the English winger can improve and get better.
The winger did relatively well at Leicester City, and the former Birmingham City man could prove to be a smart signing fo Everton.
Gray made five starts and five substitute appearances in the Bundesliga last season.
The 25-year-old scored one goal and gave two assists in those games.
The winger also made one start and one substitute appearance in the Europa League for Bayer.
