Tottenham Hotspur fans have not taken kindly to Gabriel’s first tweet after arriving at Arsenal.
Gabriel was announced as an Arsenal player last night and he wasted no time in announcing that ‘London is red’ on social media.
However, the message did not go down particularly well with Tottenham fans, who were quick to hit back at the Brazilian centre-back.
Tottenham did finish ahead of Arsenal last term, which means the Gunners have now trailed their North London rivals for four seasons running.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side showed signs of promise after his appointment, and there is real optimism around the Emirates Stadium heading into the new campaign.
Arsenal are now expected to push on this term and be a real threat once again, especially as they have made some impressive signings.
Gabriel should help to tighten up Arsenal’s defence, and the Gunners have already started to highlight the quality in their squad.
Arsenal beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final in the last game of last season and also conquered Liverpool in the Community Shield final last weekend.
