Celtic boss compared Scott Brown to Ngolo Kante.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers celebrates after the match
Brendan Rodgers has restored his reputation after a successful spell in Scotland after his Liverpool adventure turned sour.
One thing that hasn’t changed is his total belief in his players, although at some times he can get carried away.
Take this past week for instance, when expressing his disbelief that midfielder Scott Brown did not make the Scottish PFA Player of the Year shortlist.
Rodgers compared Brown to French international midfielder Ngolo Kante, who has been nominated for the English Player of the Season award for the past two seasons running.

Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante in action
He told The Mail: “I look at Kante down south, a central midfield player who is not flash and does the dirty work — but does it to a real top level.
“For us up here, I think that’s what Scott Brown does. I don’t know how he was last year, but consistently over 50-odd games this season he has been a top performer.”
Rodgers is of course just fighting the corner of a player who has bounced back after being criticised for his performances last year, and he feels deserves recognition.
The Kante comparison may be stretching it a little too far though. Chelsea paid £32 million to sign Kante from Leicester City last season and look set to be repaid with the Premier League title.
Rodgers’ comments have caused plenty of amusement among fans, who took to Twitter to lambast the comparison…
