A number of delighted Wolverhampton Wanderers stars sent tweets to Nouha Dicko after the striker scored his first goal in over a year while playing for the club’s Under-23s.
Dicko last appeared for the senior team in August 2015, when he was sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury, while a setback scuppered his plans to return in time for pre-season training.
As such, Wolves are treading carefully with the man who scored 15 goals two seasons ago, keeping him away from the first-team set up and building up his match fitness in the Under-23s.
But Dicko may soon be knocking on the door of senior team coach Walter Zenga, having found the net for Scott Sellars’ side in Tuesday’s 2-1 success against Middlesbrough.
Donovan Wilson had put Wolves ahead early in the second half, with Joao Morelli pulling a goal back for the visitors after Dicko doubled his side’s advantage.
And it seems that several first teamers had one eye on proceedings in Telford, with Danny Batth, Dave Edwards and Lee Evans quick to congratulate their Molineux colleague.
