Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to heap praise on Mohamed Salah, after the Liverpool forward was named PFA Men’s Footballer of the Year for a second time.
What’s the story?
Well, there was only ever going to be one winner.
While Heung-min Son also won the Premier League Golden Boot with 23 goals to his name, no player registered more assists than Salah, which puts the Egyptian out on his own in England’s top-flight.
The 29-year-old provided 14 assists in 35 Premier League appearances to go with his 23 Premier League goals, to crown what was a phenomenal campaign for himself and Liverpool.
After hearing the news, Lineker posted the following tweet on Twitter.
Clearly, the BBC Match of the Day host is a big fan of Salah, and it must be said that his consistency is unerring.
Last season, the Liverpool No.11 hit 31 goals in what was a difficult campaign for the Reds, as injuries meant Jürgen Klopp could only muster up a third-place finish in the Premier League.

It was an incredible effort for Salah given the circumstances, and for him to come back this term and score 31 goals again is truly special – few players in history have scored over 30 goals in successive seasons.
Liverpool could lose Mohamed Salah
Nobody expected Sadio Mane to leave Anfield this summer, although it seems as if the Senegal international is on his way to Bayern Munich.
Now, Klopp could also lose Salah unless Liverpool can strike an agreement over a new contract.

Both forwards see their contracts expire in June 2023, and it has been said that Salah would like a move to Real Madrid when his time on Merseyside does come to an end.
With talk of Benfica forward Darwin Nunez arriving at Anfield, shortly after Luis Diaz was signed, it seems Klopp is already shaping the future of his attack for life after Mane and Salah – only time will tell if they both depart.
