Some Rangers fans are baffled by Alfredo Morelos’s social media activity.
The Gers were dumped out of the Champions League in quite shocking circumstances on Tuesday night.
Steven Gerrard’s side were leading on away goals at the half-way point at Ibrox, after Morelos himself scored to make it 1-0 on the night and 2-2 on aggregate.
With Malmo having a player sent off before the half-time break, Rangers were massive favourites to progress into the next round of Champions League qualifiers.
But despite having 10 men, the Swedes fought back to score twice in the second half, winning the game 2-1 and the tie 4-2.
Despite the result and the humiliation factor, the Colombia international posted a picture of himself celebrating his goal on Twitter, which would’ve been fine had Rangers won, but here’s how some fans of the Ibrox club reacted:
May not be over
Rangers’ Champions League dream is over for at least 12 month, but the same may not apply to Morelos.
With a few weeks left in the transfer window, the South American could yet leave the Premiership champions.
He joined from Helsinki in 2017 and what a ride it has been for the past four years – for good and bad reasons – and although it may go on another year, it could also end.
If Rangers receive a satisfactory bid for the player then it could be hard for Gerrard – who has a wealth of attacking options at his disposal, including new signing Fashion Sakala – to turn it down.
