Back in 2012, before Dele Alli was a Tottenham Hotspur player and when Harry Winks was just 16, the former sent a tweet that would prove wonderfully prophetic.

At the time the pair knew each other from England youth duty, but they may not have believed that one day they would be turning out together for club and country at senior level.

Here at HITC we first mentioned the tweet shortly after Winks made his breakthrough at White Hart Lane, but it is even more appropriate now, with he and Alli set to form the bedrock of a new-look England side hoping to finally make up for all those years of hurt.

While Alli has come in for some unwarranted criticism this season, his Tottenham teammate has impressed, featuring seven times to date and earning his England call-up in the process.

With an impressive passing range, composure on the ball and an innate talent that is only going to improve in the years ahead, Winks is the real deal, and England fans are about to see what Tottenham supporters have known for some time.
