Gary Neville has said on Sky Sports Premier League (4:29pm, August 15, 2021) that he cannot believe that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli is not a £100 million player like Jack Grealish.
Attacking midfielder Grealish joined Manchester City from Aston Villa this summer for £100 million, as reported by BBC Sport.
Former Manchester United star Neville is disappointed at how Alli has fallen behind in the last couple of seasons.
The Sky Sports pundit and commentator has stated that two or three seasons ago, he would have said that Alli would become a £100 million player, not Grealish.
Neville said on Sky Sports Premier League (4:29pm, August 15, 2021): “If you said to me two or three seasons ago who would be a £100 million player out of Jack Grealish and Dele Alli, I would have said Dele Alli.
“He has lost his way in the last couple of years. It’s a critical season for him, he has got to get back to what he was, simplify his game in the middle third and then making those runs into the box.”

Stepping up
Alli has not been at his best for two seasons now, and it is clear that he needs to step up.
The 25-year-old has done well in flashes over the past two years, but he has lacked the edge and has not been very consistent.

Alli is not scoring enough goals and is not creating too many chances.
The England international needs to do the basics right and do what he did that saw him earn the move from MK Dons to Tottenham in 2015.
The midfielder scored eight goals and gave four assists in the league last season, while in 2018-19, he found the back of the net five times and gave three assists in the Premier League.
