Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Dele Alli has stated on Twitter that he is ‘gutted’ to be out of action and he will do ‘everything in his power’ to return to the starting fold as quickly as possible.
Spurs confirmed on their official Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon that the 22-year-old has suffered a hamstring strain and will be on the sidelines until early March.
Alli’s injury is a body blow to Tottenham and manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has to contend with a number of absent players, particularly in the final third.
Here is Alli reacting to his injury on his personal Twitter account:
Striker Harry Kane is also on the injury table and he will be looking to return to training at a similar time than his recently-injured teammate.
During Spurs’ dramatic 2-1 win over Fulham on Sunday, Alli injured himself during the second half and was substituted prior to Harry Winks scoring a last-gasp winner.
In that game, Pochettino opted to play Fernando Llorente up front, with Alli in behind the forward and the England man didn’t disappoint as he equalised for his team.

Nonetheless, over the course of the season, Alli has played 25 games in all competitions for Spurs, scoring seven goals and providing five assists for his teammates.
Following that worrying confirmation of Alli’s injury, Pochettino and his team will turn their attention to their Carabao Cup encounter against Chelsea on Thursday.
Tottenham hold a 1-0 lead over Maurizio Sarri’s side in the first leg as the winner will play Manchester City in the final at Wembley next month.
