Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat to Juventus was and still is difficult for fans to take.
The players are feeling it too, with Heung Min Son appearing tearful after the final whistle at Wembley.
Spurs midfielder Dele Alli was gutted by the loss, and sent a message to supporters after the defeat via Instagram.
Alli’s message read: “Hugely disappointing night, gutted to have not progressed into the quarter finals.
“Many positives to take from this campaign and so proud of my team mates to have performed they way they have. We will come back stronger #COYS.”
Alli like so many of the Tottenham players will be able to take positives from their Champions League campaign when the disappointment eventually wears off.
He scored in the win over Real Madrid and with the team currently on course to qualify for the competition next season, there will be another opportunity, and an exciting one too, with Spurs set to host games in their impressive new stadium.
Alli surely will want to stick around and be a part of it.
