The Tottenham Hotspur player has committed to the club until at least 2021.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has been speaking to the club’s official website following the announcement of his new contract.
The teenager only signed for Spurs from MK Dons a year ago but he has swiftly become an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side and it is no surprise to see the North London club reward him with improved terms.
Alli already had a deal tying him to Tottenham until the summer of 2020 but he has now signed an extension that runs until the following year.
There has been some speculation that other clubs were sniffing around following Alli’s outstanding start to life in North London, but the player seemingly has no intention of moving on any time soon.
“When I signed here I wanted to play for Tottenham and I wasn’t thinking about going anywhere else at the time,” the teenager said. “The manager and everyone has helped me a lot and thankfully I broke in and I’ve got a few games now.
“I’ve shown people what I can do and established myself as a Premier League player. I’m 19 and I’ve still got a lot to learn and I can’t think of a better place to do that.”
Alli has played 26 games for Spurs this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists in the process and earning his first England cap.
He looks set to play a vital role for both club and country for the next decade and more and the latest news is a huge boost for Tottenham and their fans.
