Liverpool appear set to miss out on Ryan Sessegnon, with The Times reporting Tottenham Hotspur are favourites to sign the Fulham youngster.

The Mirror report Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp fears he has already missed out on the talented teenager, who has made a big impression in his debut campaign.

Sessegnon, 17, made his debut and scored at 16 for Fulham and played a key part in them reaching the play-offs.

Tottenham are keen to sign Sessegnon amid fears Danny Rose could leave, with The Sun reporting they are closing in on his signature.

Sessegnon is one of England’s most highly rated young talents and Liverpool will be hoping their failure to sign him will not come back to haunt them as it did with Dele Alli.

Despite bringing Alli into the club for talks when he was at MK Dons, Liverpool could not persuade him to sign, and he went onto join Spurs instead.

At Spurs he has netted 50 goals already and become an England regular, this year voted PFA Young Player of the Season by his peers.

Liverpool need reinforcements at left-back more than Tottenham, and it seems like an error just to give up on signing him before Spurs have closed a deal.
