Dejan Lovren is optimistic that Liverpool can win the Champions League this season.

Liverpool put up a masterclass performance against FC Porto in the Champions League in the midweek, and have almost guaranteed their position in the quarter-finals.
The Reds won 5-0 away to Porto in their round of 16 first leg knock out stage, and it will require a Herculean effort from the Portuguese club to turn it around from here.
While Liverpool are clear favourites to reach quarter finals, the question is how far can they go in this tournament?

According to Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren, the Reds have the potential to win the competition. When asked whether Liverpool can win the trophy, he replied, as quoted by AS: “Why not? Of course.”
There are a lot of good teams in the Champions League, and it would take a special effort from Liverpool to win the competition.
The 28-year-old says that Liverpool should take it game by game, and that he is happy to be considered as an underdog.

“It is good when they don’t talk about us. Maybe they would consider them to be the favourites – even better,” he added.
“We are the underdogs I would say. I love that when people think that about us. It is something from deep inside that will explode, but we need to be calm and finish the second game at home and let’s see what happens later.”
Jurgen Klopp guided his Borussia Dortmund side to the finals of the Champions League in 2013, and the German will love to replicate that feat again.
