Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski has hailed new signing James Maddison as being ‘amazing’ to watch on the ball.
James Maddison continues to earn plaudits at Tottenham Hotspur with winger Dejan Kulusevski offering praise.
Kulusevski has been speaking to the London Evening Standard after Tottenham beat Shakhtar Donetsk 5-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Harry Kane’s four goals understandably stole the show in Tottenham’s penultimate pre-season friendly.
James Maddison impressed as well though, first winning the penalty for Kane’s opening goal.
Maddison then set up Kane’s second, sending an inch-perfect cross onto Kane’s head as he planted the ball home.
Kulusevski has now hailed Maddison, stating that it’s simply ‘amazing’ to watch Maddison when he’s on the ball.
Kulusevski added that he is always looking to get into space because Maddison can pick him out, just as he did to set up Kane’s second goal.
“When he has the ball it’s amazing,” Kulusevski said. “As soon as I have the ball I look for space and look to run in the space because he’s very good passer. Like he did for the goal for Harry, 2-1,” he added.

Dejan Kulusevski can join James Maddison as key Tottenham creator
Tottenham forked out £40million to sign Maddison from Leicester City earlier this summer, believing him to be the ideal midfield addition.
Spurs didn’t really have that attack-minded midfield option under Antonio Conte and Maddison is already showing his value.
Maddison has been a top creative player in the Premier League, racking up 69 key passes last season – more than any Tottenham player.
The onus must now also be on Kulusevski to step up his game.

The Swede made an immediate impact after joining from Juventus in January 2022, recording five goals and eight assists in just 18 games.
Kulusevski couldn’t take that form into last season as his numbers dropped to two goals and seven assists in 30 games.
A niggling injury didn’t help but Kulusevski seemed to lose a little confidence – as many Tottenham players did in the second half of the season.
Kulusevski has that magic like Maddison, the ability to unlock a defence in an instant.
We haven’t seen it as much lately but Kulusevski can take another step forward and give Tottenham two creative forces alongside Maddison.
