Dejan Kulusevski has told UEFA’s website that Antonio Conte’s demands in Tottenham training have “surprised” him and left the Swedish ace “suffering” at times – but while he has found double sessions “crazy”, they are also “fun”.
The 22-year-old winger, who remains on loan at Spurs but is expected to sign a permanent move, is likely to start for Spurs on Wednesday night. The North Londoners take on AC Milan in the second leg of their Champions League tie.
Conte is back, too. He will be in the dugout for the clash having missed the last few matches as he recovered from emergency surgery on his gallbladder. But he is back, and took training on Tuesday ahead of the crucial Milan clash.
Speaking to UEFA’s website ahead of the second leg, which is now considered the most-important match of his side’s season, Kulusevski spoke about working under Conte in training. He says the Italian gaffer makes you suffer.

“I never met a man that wants it more than him,” Kulusevski said: “The thing that surprised me the most is the physical part, like doing gym almost every day: going out, doing sprints. You think you’re completely finished.
“You left it out there, but then after two hours you are there running for two more hours and doing 10km again. It’s fun. It’s crazy to say, but sometimes suffering is a nice feeling,” Kulusevski told UEFA’s website this week.
Kulusevski says Conte’s Tottenham demands have left him suffering
Spurs need Kulusevski firing on all cylinders. It is fair to say the Sweden star has struggled since the World Cup break, but if they are to overcome Milan tomorrow night, they will need their front three to be at their very best in the Capital.
If Spurs are going to have any success this season, they need their front three to be at their very best. Right now, you could argue that only Harry Kane is in form in terms of Tottenham attackers. They need to help the England skipper.
