Chelsea technical and performance advisor Petr Cech and Jack Wilshere are among those who have responded to Dejan Iliev’s post on Instagram after Arsenal decided to let him leave for good.

Arsenal have announced on their official website that Iliev has terminated his contract by mutual consent and has left the Gunners.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper was on the books of the North London club since September 2012 when he joined from North Macedonian side FK Belasica.

The former Macedonia Under-21 international goalkeeper was sent out on loan to ŠKF Sereď in the Slovak Super Liga in the summer of 2021.

As announced on Arsenal’s official website, Iliev has terminated his contract with ŠKF Sereď.

The 26-year-old has sent a message on Instagram following his departure, and former Arsenal players Cech and Wilshere are among those who have responded to him.

Iliev did not make a single appearance in the Premier League for Arsenal, but he was part of the first-team squad in the UEFA Europa League and the Carabao Cup on occasions.

During his time at Arsenal, the 26-year-old was sent out on loan to ŠKF Sereď (twice), Jagiellonia Białystok and Shrewsbury Town.

Iliev was a regular for the Arsenal Under-23 side and was also the captain in recent seasons, but he simply could not establish himself in the Gunners’ first team.
