Much of the praise that Burnley have received this season has been reserved for their defence, and rightly so, given how resilient Sean Dyche’s side have been at the back.

However, there are other members of Dyche’s team that deserve much credit for their performances, including midfielder Steven Defour.

Defour found the net in the 2-2 draw away to Manchester United with a fine free-kick and the 29-year-old will now hopefully start to receive more recognition for the improvements that he has made this season.

This campaign, however, the Belgian has produced some excellent displays as he has helped Burnley to retain possession effectively and has also provided the requisite protection to the back four.

Although they were unable to hold on for all three points against United, Burnley have enjoyed an excellent season so far and are currently in seventh place in the Premier League, with Defour having certainly played his part in proceedings.
