Rangers striker Jermain Defoe has said on ITV (7:30pm, November 12, 2021) that Steven Gerrard will do well at Aston Villa.
Gerrard has stepped down from his managerial role at Rangers and has moved to Premier League club Villa.
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Defoe has said that Gerrard is a top manager.
The Rangers striker believes that the former Liverpool midfielder will do well at Villa.
Defoe said: “First of all, we would like to thank him for the job that he did at the football club. Fantastic job for him and his staff, wish him all the best for the future.
“I think he will do well because I know what he brings. Forget about Steven Gerrard the footballer, but as a manager, he is a top manager, he is a leader, he was always approachable.”
Former Villa assistant manager and Manchester United legend Roy Keane said about Gerrard: “He did a brilliant job. I think it’s a great chance for Steven to do well there.”

Will Steven Gerrard succeed at Aston Villa?
Gerrard did a wonderful job at Rangers.
The Gers won the Scottish Premiership title last season and also reached the Europa League Round of 16.
Rangers are at the top of the league table at the moment and could also progress to the latter stages of the Europa League this season.

Gerrard has grown as a manager at Rangers, one of the biggest clubs in the world.
In our view, the Englishman will do a very good job at Villa.
Now, of course, the Villa chiefs and the fans will have to give Gerrard time, but there is every chance that he will do well at Villa Park.
