£25 million Everton forward Yannick Bolasie has tweeted an interesting theory as to why William Saliba isn’t getting any action at Arsenal.
The 19-year-old centre-back was signed by Unai Emery for £27 million in the summer of 2019, before being loaned back to AS Saint-Etienne.
However, roughly 18 months on, and Saliba still hasn’t made a competitive appearance for the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta even left him out of his Europa League squad.

The teenager has only played for the development side this season, making five Premier League 2 appearances and two Papa John’s Trophy outings.
In response to a video of Alexandre Lacazette and Saliba chatting about Arsenal’s greatest French players, Bolasie tweeted the following.
In his tweet, the ex-Crystal Palace winger references Wesley Fofana, who joined Leicester from Saliba’s old club AS Saint-Etienne in a £36 million deal back in the summer.
In Bolasie’s eyes, the Arsenal No.4 isn’t being excluded by Arteta due to a lack of ability, which implies that the DR Congo international believes there’s a deeper aspect to the situation.
It is certainly interesting to hear a Premier League player’s opinion on the situation, as it’s a very strange occurrence.

Few clubs splash such a significant sum on a player, only to have them playing youth football against academy prospects.
Hopefully, Saliba isn’t made to waste away in the development side for too much longer, and he can enjoy a taste of competitive, first-team football.
