There wasn’t a lot of positives for Liverpool on Wednesday night.
A young Reds XI hosted Derby County in the Carabao Cup but needed a penalty shootout victory to see off the League One outfit.
Liverpool dominated the encounter but struggled to convert opportunities.
One positive was definitely Calvin Ramsay at right-back.
The 19-year-old made his full senior debut for Liverpool last night following a summer move from Aberdeen.

And Stephen Warnock has admitted that he was the ‘standout player’ for the Anfield outfit.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live [09/11, 8:18 pm]: “Ramsay has been the standout performer. Defensively as well, he’s got a real turn of pace and understands where he wants to take a player. He looks a player.”
Obviously you can’t read too much into Ramsay’s display because, as mentioned, the Rams are a League One club these days and impressing against them has to be taken with a pinch of salt.
Then again, he’s only 19 so although keeping the opponent in mind is always smart, let’s not take the shine off his performance too much.
The truth is that obviously people at Liverpool have high hopes for the Scottish teenager and he certainly did look the business on Wednesday night irrespective of the opponent.
