Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Tariq Lamptey has named Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane as two of the best players he’s come up against in the Premier League.
Lamptey was answering a number of fan questions for the Premier League, and understandably, supporters wanted to know who the best player Lamptey has played against was.
Lamptey couldn’t quite decide on one player, but he did give honourable mentions to Salah and Mane alongside Kevin De Bruyne and Marcus Rashford.
What’s Lamptey said?
The defender was asked who his toughest opponent has been.
“It’s a great question, obviously there are a lot of fantastic players in the Prem. Definitely last season it was against Salah and Mane with their trickery and pace, Rashford has trickery and pace, De Bruyne has great vision and a range of passing. There are a lot of players who are at the top top level,” Lamptey said.

Unplayable
On their days, Mane and Salah are unplayable, but interestingly, Lamptey is one player who has what it takes to deal with them.
The Brighton defender is one of the only full-backs in the country who can match Salah and Mane for pace, and while he isn’t as strong as the Liverpool pair, his speed should give him a good chance.
With Lamptey being so young, this isn’t a battle we’ve been lucky enough to see all that often, but it’s certainly something to keep an eye out for when Brighton face Liverpool later in the season.
