Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have been linked with an ambitious move for Leroy Sane, and a well-known and well-respected journalist has now claimed that the former Manchester City winger could be tempted by a move to the Gunners.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke has told GiveMeSport that Sane could seriously consider a move to Arsenal.
O’Rourke has noted that Sane, a former Manchester City player, knows Arsenal manager Arteta from their time at the Etihad Stadium.
Arteta was the assistant manager to Pep Guardiola at City before taking over at Arsenal.
Sane also knows Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from his time at the Etihad Stadium.
Brazil international striker Jesus and Ukraine international star Zinchenko moved to Arsenal from defending Premier League champions City in the summer of 2022.
Sane joined German giants Bayern from City in the summer of 2020 for £40.9 million (The Guardian).

90min reported last month that Arsenal are interested in signing Sane from Bayern and have already asked about his situation at the defending German champions.
Former Manchester City star Leroy Sane tipped for potential Arsenal move
O’Rourke told GiveMeSport: “I think it could only help, if there’s any potential move for Leroy Sane, if he knows people that he has previously worked with, like Mikel Arteta.
“I’m sure it will come into his thinking if he wants to leave Bayern Munich, and he will definitely seriously consider a move to Arsenal because Arteta’s there, and the players that he’s played with as well.“
Exciting
In our view, Leroy Sane would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal and would make the Gunners more potent in attack.
Sane is 26 and is not at his peak yet, and we have seen how Arteta has improved and developed players such as Martin Odegaard and Ben White.
Arteta knows the Germany international winger from his time at City, and he could be able to develop Sane into a world-class player.
