Middlesbrough fans have been left fuming after Leeds United linked Daniel Ayala’s apparent decision to allow his contract to expire at the end of this month.
The Daily Mail suggest that Ayala may have played his last game for Boro, with the central defender apparently deciding that he doesn’t want to risk playing and jeopardise a potential move.
Ayala’s contract is set to expire and Leeds are believed to be among the most interested clubs in signing the centre-back.
Ayala would offer Leeds aerial presence and power at the back if he was to sign at Elland Road.
And Boro fans are starting to believe that a transfer could happen after Ayala’s latest actions, although they are not at all impressed.
Ayala has been with Middlesbrough for six years now, but this could be a sour ending to his time at the Riverside Stadium.
If he is brought to Leeds he could fill the void left by Ben White, if his loan expires and the Whites are unable to make the move a permanent one.
