Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles has claimed that Tottenham are looking for a new centre-back and a new right-back

Tottenham’s defence has been a big problem this season, but it seems as though the London club are ready to fix their issues at the back.

“Positions they’re looking at, right back is one, centre-back is definitely one. What I can tell you is that the Dulux dog is not on either of the lists with or without Jose Mourinho despite the social media interest and fight that went on.”

It’s a real shame to hear about the Dulux dog, especially after the claims of how good the canine would be at centre-half.

All jokes aside, it is interesting to hear that Spurs want a right-back and a centre-back.

Matt Doherty was only signed last summer, and it doesn’t seem as though Serge Aurier has been in north London for that long either.

Unfortunately, it’s been clear that both players haven’t been up to scratch this season, and it seems as though at least one of them will be replaced.

The centre-back update isn’t all that surprising. After all, Tottenham have been linked with a number of new centre-halves such as Joachim Andersen and Lewis Dunk.

Who Spurs end up signing remains to be seen, but it’s bound to be an interesting summer.
