Jude Bellingham warns Rangers that Borussia Dortmund are confident they can overcome the deficit in their Europa League knockout round play-off, via quotes by The Scottish Sun.

BVB travel to Glasgow this Thursday seeking revenge following the Gers winning 4-2 at the Westfalenstadion last week. Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Premiership giants ran rampant in North Rhine-Westphalia to twice take three-goal leads and seize the first-leg advantage.

Rangers can now advance through to Friday’s last 16 draw by avoiding a defeat of three or more goals. They cannot rely on away goals keeping them ahead after UEFA abolished the rule from this season, giving the Bundesliga outfit an extra lifeline for their visit to Ibrox.

Bellingham is confident Borussia Dortmund have the firepower to score at least twice at Rangers. Marco Rose’s side bounced back from a European nightmare by thrashing rivals Borussia Monchengladbach 6-0 on Sunday with five different players on the scoresheet.

Jude Bellingham tells Rangers a clean sheet is ‘foundation’ of Dortmund gameplan

As well as expressing his confidence, Bellingham has told Rangers that Borussia Dortmund will focus on keeping a clean sheet. The England midfielder believes shutting the Gers out will be vital for BVB to reverse the first-leg and give their attackers a platform to perform.

“Is it still doable? Yes, definitely,” Bellingham stated. “We can score goals against anybody. I believe that. We scored two against them last time, and this time we need two to level it up and [score] three to go through if we keep a clean sheet.

“That will be the foundation, a clean sheet. Then with the ball, we have to just do what we do. We will go and attack them and try to put the ball in the net as many times as possible.

“Sunday’s 6-0 result against Monchengladbach also gives us a lot of confidence, knowing we can score goals. We were really clinical and we will be up for it on Thursday.”

Rangers last failed to score at least one goal at Celtic in this month’s Old Firm derby. It was only the fifth time so far this season they have failed to score. They have also found the net 15 times over five games in all competitions since, including hitting Dortmund for four.
