Defender suggests it’s a total nightmare having to mark Liverpool star in training

Andy Robertson has written in his book, Now You’re Gonna Believe Us, that Sadio Mane is a nightmare to come up against in training.

Robertson often has to mark Mane at Melwood, which means he knows more than most just how dangerous the Liverpool forward can be.

Robertson says that it is just so difficult to predict what Mane is going to do when he is in possession, which makes him virtually impossible to deal with.

“I know from experience how difficult he is to deal with because I see it in training on a daily basis,” the left-back said, in quotes covered on Liverpool’s official website.

“He can do the unexpected, he can beat you with his upper body strength, he can go past you with skill or fly past you with speed.

“As well as having that kind of talent, he has also become a lot more consistent. When he first joined Liverpool, Sadio was already really good but he has become even better because his level of consistency has improved so much.”

Mane certainly has developed into one of Liverpool’s star players, and he is now widely regarded as one of the most dangerous players in the Premier League.

Mane already has three goals in three Liverpool appearances in the league this term, and he will have his eyes firmly set on hurting Everton at the weekend.

Seamus Coleman looks likely to be the Everton defender tasked with keeping a handle on Mane, which will be easier said than done.

Liverpool go into the Merseyside derby with the pressure on them to pick up a victory, after they were heavily beaten by Aston Villa in their last outing.
