Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Antonio Rudiger was left out of the Chelsea matchday squad on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea took on Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League yesterday.
As stated on BBC Sport and Football.London, Rudiger was not in manager Frank Lampard’s squad, and there is no suggestion that the 27-year-old is injured.
The 27-year-old central defender has been strongly linked with Tottenham, with Sky Sports reporting on September 28 that Jose Mourinho’s side are interested in him.
TMW has claimed that Spurs want to secure the services of the Germany international on a loan deal, as covered by HITC Sport here.
The former AS Roma star did follow the match yesterday despite not being in the squad, and he was pleased to see Chelsea win 4-0.
Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?
Tottenham could do with a new senior central defender to compete with Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez, and given Rudiger’s experience and quality, he would make the North London club better at the back.
However, it remains to be seen if Chelsea will be open to sending the defender to a direct rival for the Champions League places.
