Kevin Campbell has said that reported Arsenal target Jurrien Timber is good enough to play for any top team.
The former Arsenal striker has said on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel that Jurrien Timber would be a very good signing for the Gunners.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Arsenal are on the verge of signing Timber from Ajax.
The Mirror have claimed that the Gunners will pay Ajax an initial transfer fee of £40 million to secure the services of the 22-year-old Netherlands international defender, who can operate as a central defender or as a right-back.
The youngster has already reportedly agreed personal terms with the Gunners.
Jurrien Timber backed to succeed at Arsenal
Campbell said about Timber: “He could play for any team, any team, at the top, any top team.”

Good signing for the Gunners
In our opinion, Jurrien Timber would be a very good signing for Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Timber would be able to slot in at centre-back or at right-back.
So, especially, Arsenal would be getting two players for the price of one.
Now, of course, we know that the Gunners have a settled back-line, but Timber would be a valuable option for Arteta and would keep the other defenders on their toes.
Arsenal will play in the UEFA Champions League next season, so the North London club need a big squad with depth.
