Chelsea wanted to sign Craig Gordon from Celtic in the January transfer window.
Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata has told The Glasgow Evening Times that he is happy that Craig Gordon did not join Chelsea.
The Premier League giants were interested in signing Gordon from Scottish Premiership outfit Celtic in the January transfer window.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte recently told The Scottish Sun that he wanted to recruit the Scotland international goalkeeper.
Boyata, who is 26 years of age and has experience of playing in England with Manchester City, has stated that he is happy that 34-year-old Gordon stayed at Celtic Park.

“He is a very good goalkeeper,” Boyata told The Glasgow Evening Times about Gordon. “He has proved it in the two seasons I have been here.
“He is a very good goalkeeper and that is why Chelsea came in for him. In the end, I am delighted to play with Craigy and I hope he can keep doing well for us.”

Gordon is a very good goalkeeper and is arguably the best in the Scottish Premiership. The former Sunderland man’s performances for the Bhoys seem to have impressed English clubs.
The problem is that top clubs in the Premier League could make moves for the 34-year-old again in the summer. Would Celtic be able to convince Gordon to remain at Celtic Park?
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 67 points from 23 matches.
The Bhoys are 25 points clear of second-placed and Old Firm rivals Rangers and are the clear frontrunners for the title.
