Dedryck Boyata has told The National it is “crazy” that Celtic are forced to play Motherwell three times in a row.

The first meeting in that run came on Sunday when the Hoops defeated the Fir Park side 2-0 in a League Cup final at Hampden Park, in which Scott Sinclair caused controversy after being accused of diving to win a penalty in an incident which saw Cedric Kipre sent off.
There was already an element of bad blood in this fixture dating back to last season when Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers slammed Ryan Bowman for a horrendous challenge on young left-back Kieran Tierney.
With that in mind, tonight’s trip to Fir Park might well be another fiery encounter for both sides as the renewed hostility promises to spill over from Sunday’s showpiece.
If so, it could add even more spice to Saturday’s clash between the teams at Parkhead, and the former Manchester City youth believes it’s not a great look for Scottish football.
“To play three matches in a row against the same team? It is crazy, I would say it is crazy,” Boyata, a £1.5 million signing in 2015, told The National. “But we have to do it. I am not going to complain or whatever.
“It doesn’t look good. I think it will be a hard game, we know from the final that Motherwell are a good team and a hard team to play against.
“They have just lost the cup. They will want to win that game and make it difficult for us.”
