Celtic are reportedly pursuing Chelsea’s Charly Musonda.

Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata has told the Daily Mail that he thinks Bhoys target Charly Musonda is a ‘very, very talented player’.

The Bhoys have tied up two deals already this summer by signing midfielder Kundai Benyu and winger Jonny Hayes, but manager Brendan Rodgers is now pursuing a major signing.

As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic are hoping to snap up Chelsea talent Charly Musonda in a £5million raid, which would be a huge coup for Rodgers and co.

Musonda, 20, left Anderlecht for Chelsea back in 2012, and despite being touted as a star of the future, he has yet to even make his first-team bow for the Blues, and recently had two loan spells with Real Betis in Spain.

Now back with Chelsea and struggling to break through under Antonio Conte, Musonda could leave Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis this summer, and Celtic are ready to pounce.

A pacey, creative player who can play out wide or as a No. 10, Musonda has huge potential and could form a terrifying attacking trio with Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele at Celtic, if the Bhoys can push a deal through.

Now, Celtic defender and Musonda’s compatriot Dedryck Boyata has told the Daily Mail that he thinks Musonda is a ‘very, very talented player’, and he is being talked about as one of the stars of the future in Belgian football.

Boyata added that Musonda did actually come to watch a Celtic game back in May, and whilst he doesn’t know the details surrounding his visit – which will spark further rumours about a transfer – he believes Musonda was impressed with how the Bhoys play football.

“From what I’ve seen, he is a very, very talented player,” said Boyata. “When we talk about the future of Belgian football, his name is there. That tells you all you need to know. I saw him last season because he came to watch a game against St Johnstone at Celtic Park when we won 4-1. I saw him at the stadium because he came to watch the game and I saw him at the airport as well because we were on the same flight.”

“I guess he came to watch a game, I think, but I don’t know anything else. He seemed impressed with what he saw, he was very happy with the style and the way we played. The last time I saw him play, I can’t remember what game it was, but I watched it on TV and he helped Betis to win the game. Today when they talk about the future of the national team his name is always there,” he added.
