Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema reacted to his former teammate’s message and he simply stated: ‘Let’s go brother’ added with a fire emoji.
The likes of Lukas Podolski and Shkodran Mustafi also sent messages to the German playmaker.
Even though Ozil is well aware that he may never put on an Arsenal shirt again, he needs to keep fit and prepare himself in the best way that he can.
The winter transfer window will open on New Year’s Day and it will be interesting if Ozil, whose contract at the Emirates runs out next summer, will move to another club.
Whether fans agree with it or not, he clearly doesn’t suit Mikel Arteta’s high-press, aggressive and demanding style of play.
And their win at Old Trafford on Sunday illustrated and backed Arteta’s ruthless call to leave him out of the 25-man squad
But there is still a long way to go before judgements of that kind can be passed.
In the meantime, Ozil will use his social media platforms to cheer on his Arsenal teammates, who will be in Europa League action tonight.
