West Ham United earned a hard fought point last night.

West Ham ace Declan Rice spoke to reporters after his side’s fine 1-1 draw with Liverpool at the London Stadium last night, and shared something that he noticed about his teammates when they walked off the pitch at the end of the game, as quoted by the club’s official website.

The Hammers currently sit in 12th spot in the Premier League table, six points adrift of seventh placed Wolves, but they do have a nice run of fixtures coming up, with five of their next six games against teams currently inside the bottom half of the table.

West Ham put in a real shift against Liverpool last night, and despite the fact that the visitors were not at their best, Manuel Pellegrini’s men deserve real credit for the pressure that they put the league leaders under.

Rice spoke to reporters after the game, and highlighted how tired all of the Hammers players were in the aftermath of the match, as quoted by the club’s official website:

Declan Rice signs a new contract at West Ham United in Rush Green on December 28, 2018 in Romford, England.

“I think you saw us walking off the pitch, we were knackered, but that was the hard work we put in and the hard work we put in on the training field since the Wolves defeat.”

Next up for West Ham is a trip to Crystal Palace at the weekend, and Pellegrini’s side will be in buoyant mood after their wonderful performance last night.

The Eagles will represent an entirely different challenge all together, however, and Rice and co will have to be on top form, if they are to leave south London with maximum points.
