Declan Rice sends Twitter message to crocked West Ham teammate

Declan Rice has broken into the West Ham first team of late.

West Ham prodigy Declan Rice has urged young Hammers teammate Nathan Holland to come back stronger from injury on his personal Twitter account.

Football London reported on Tuesday morning that 19-year-old ace Holland had torn his hamstring and would be sidelined for three months at an important stage of his burgeoning career.

Rice, who has broken into the Hammers first team this season, remains captain of the east Londoners Under-23 side, of which attacker Holland is a regular fixture.

The centre-back sent a message to his teenage teammate on Twitter, stating that “minor setbacks” lead to “major comebacks” as Holland is now set to remain on the sidelines until February 2018.

Holland, who joined the Hammers from Everton’s youth setup in January, is yet to make a senior appearance for David Moyes’ side but has starred in West Ham’s Under-23 side.

Making seven Premier League 2 appearances this term, Holland has scored three goals from the left flank and could be in with a shout of first-team football before the end of the season.

Rice on the other hand, could make his 10th senior appearance on Sunday in Moyes’ first match in charge, with James Collins and Jose Fonte nursing injuries while Winston Reid must travel back from international duty in New Zealand.

The Hammers face Watford at Vicarage Road, with Moyes desperate to earn all three points and push his side out of the bottom three.
