West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has said on the Redknapp’s Big Night Out show on Sky One (10:49pm, May 20, 2021) that he hopes that Jesse Lingard stays beyond the end of the season.
Lingard joins West Ham on loan from Premier League rivals Manchester United in the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, has been superb for the Hammers.
The England international has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 15 Premier League games for the Hammers.
Rice said about Lingard on the Redknapp’s Big Night Out show on Sky One (10:49pm, May 20, 2021): “I hope he does. I really hope he does. He has changed the squad completely.
“From the first session, he is brave on the ball, he is always on the half turn, he is always facing forward. That’s the player we needed.”
Lingard is unlikely to get much playing time at United, and it would make sense for him to stay at West Ham.

The Hammers could be in the Europa League next season, and that should help them in convincing the England international to stay at the Hammers.
The Athletic recently reported that United would prefer to sell Lingard given that his price would be high now.
Given the impact that the 28-year-old has made at London Stadium, it would make sense for the Hammers to try to make his loan deal permanent this summer.
