And it seems that Rice is a big fan of Phillips.
Both players are important figures in the England set-up.
When asked to describe the former Leeds United star on England TikTok in one word, Rice said: “Technique”.
Phillips has not had the best of times on a personal level at City and was linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool linked with summer move for Kalvin Phillips
The Daily Mail reported on August 15, 2023 that Liverpool were looking to sign the £150,000-a-week (Spotrac) midfielder in the summer of 2023.
After missing out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea, Liverpool were back in for Phillips after having initially decided not to bid for him, according to the report.

However, the 27-year-old England international is still at City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season.
Phillips moved to City from Leeds in the summer of 2022.
The Englishman failed to make a huge impact at the Etihad Stadium last season.
The 27-year-old made two starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League and made three substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for Pep Guardiola’s side last season.
Phillips has played only six minutes in the Premier League for City so far this season.
