West Ham United picked up a vital win in their quest to secure Premier League survival.

West Ham fans have been lauding Declan Rice after the Republic of Ireland international took to Twitter to comment on the Hammers’ sensational win over Southampton which eased David Moyes’ men’s relegation concerns.
After the scenes that marred the defeat against Burnley before the international break, the Irons would have known how vital it was that they turned their fortunes around in emphatic fashion as they faced the team immediately below the drop zone line in the Premier League.

But while some supporters would have been expecting the Irons to flounder when the pressure was on, Moyes’ men were superb to pick up the three points and move five points clear of the relegation zone.
Joao Mario opened the scoring with a stunning goal, and that was followed by a Marko Arnautovic brace before the break. It was a brilliant performance, but it was also a fantastic display at the back, with Rice and Angelo Ogbonna looking solid throughout the game.

Rice has been a revelation this term – a fact that has been recognised with the 19-year-old being given a chance to make his debut for the Republic of Ireland senior side during the most recent break – and the fans were more than happy to inform him how impressed they had been when he took to social media to celebrate the victory.
Several fans lauded Rice’s performance in the 3-0 win, while others suggested that he was going to be a future captain of the side.
