Former Tottenham Hotspur star Graham Roberts has praised West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice on Twitter for his performance for England at Euro 2020.

Roberts has said that despite being a Tottenham man through and through, he believes that Rice has been superb for England at the European Championship.

The former Spurs star made the comments while responding to a West Ham fan account on Twitter.

Rice has been brilliant for England and has played a big role in the Three Lions reaching the final of the European Championship.

The 22-year-old has formed a strong partnership with Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips in midfield.

While Phillips has been given the freedom to drive forward from time to time, Rice has been brilliant in sitting back and breaking opposition’s play.

As recorded on UEFA’s official website, the youngster, who can also play as a defender, has a pass accuracy of 92% has, made nine tackles, has had one attempt on goal, has made 25 ball recoveries, and has covered 53.9km.

Yes, Liverpool star Jordan Henderson is a very good player and is more experienced, but based on how Rice has played so far, it is very likely that England head coach Gareth Southgate will keep him in the starting lineup for the final against Italy this weekend.
