Phil Foden helped Manchester City secure a fourth Premier League title in five years – and both Declan Rice and Richarlison praised the City star. An incredible achievement, but also for Foden given he is still so young.

In a breathtaking final day of the 2021-22 Premier League campaign, City needed to win to keep Liverpool at bay. But with 20 minutes left to go, they were losing 2-0 to Aston Villa. However, they came back to win 3-2.

A brace from substitute Ilkay Gundogan, either side of a Rodri effort, saw City score three goals in five minutes to down Steven Gerrard’s side. Liverpool beat Wolves 3-1, but it was not enough for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Foden, still only 21, now has four Premier League titles to his name. A player that had a hand in 25 goals during his 45 games this season. He posted on Instagram after the full-time whistle, underlining his delight.

It is another astonishing achievement for Pep Guardiola, for Manchester City and for Foden. To win four out of the last five Premier League titles surely makes Guardiola’s side the best to have ever played in the top tier.

For Foden, to regularly be a part of this side at 21 – he turns 22 later this month – is phenomenal. Not only is a City academy player, but he deserves to be a part of this side. And then some, and his stats are proof of that.

West Ham star Rice and Richarlison – who, as an Everton player, teased Liverpool as City were confirmed as Champions – reacted to Foden’s post.
